[tps_header]This season, Sophie Albou amused us with a collection praising one of the most beautiful times of the year – the end of a hot summer day. The sheer palette of dark colors, being an allusion to the summer nights, mixes up perfectly with an elaborate set of pinkish colors, which resemble the sunsets. The men’s collection does remind us of the dearest to our hearts moment of a beautiful summer evening or a lovely summer night. The women’s collection, on the other hand, seems to put less focus on the nights, and concentrates on praising the hot sunny days spent on the beach. Anyway, the women’s collection still ‘discusses’ a bit of summer sunsets.
The key prints of the men’s collection seem to be butterflies in a tandem with flowers. These voguish embroideries, as well as the other stylish details, come in dark blues, dark greens, and black to resemble a summer night. Some pieces of the collection are white, which might be a great way of expressing the contrast between the alluring summer nights and the hot days on the beach under a clear sky. What comes to the form of the pieces, they’re meant for every occasion. The big selection of suits and loose – for formal events, the shorts – for walks on the hot sunny days, and the wearable line – with sophisticated details, created through the usage of fine fabrics. And here you go – a ready set for any men’s wardrobe.
The Paul & Joe cruise 2016 collection, though different from the men’s, still has some similarities to it. The very first look of the resort collection is a comfortable dress, totally meant for informal occasions, with a palette of grey, white, dark blue, and pink. This set perfectly works to make a metaphor for the contrast between a relaxing summer day and a charmingly captivating summer’s night. The whole collection seems to adopt that relaxed comfortable style. A big amount of the resort collection is consisting primarily of a lot of white and tempting prints of people on the beach having a great load of fun. Other pieces are made up of bohemian colorful flowery prints or of bewitchingly exotic prints. And if speaking of where the pieces can be worn to, some looks are clearly aimed only for the beach. But the majority can be easily worn on a daily basis. There are some classy pieces, like the black dress or the creamy women’s suit, yet you might be reluctant to wear them on very formal events or balls. They’re more of the meeting-type of looks.
As you can see, many of the women’s resort collection of Paul & Joe is aimed at discussing a summer day and very little attention is given to the summer sunsets, whereas the whole men’s resort collection is fully concentrating on the summer nights and evenings. And, however it is, both collection realize Sophie’s wish of expressing this enchanting time – a beautiful summer day with its hot and relaxing days, a graceful night, and a gorgeous evening.[/tps_header]
